Managing with Toothache at Home

Download/view a self-help guide to managing toothache for while you are unable to see a dentist.

Due to the current COVI-19 health crisis, we have temporarily closed the practices to all routine care.

This is to protect the health and wellbeing of all our patients and staff.

However, we are still here to provide emergency advice, support and care to you should you need us.

Please call 01962 714459 for further help.

This situation is changing day by day and as soon as it is safe to reopen we will be.

Stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.

We as dental professionals have received advice from the Chief Dental Officers (CDOs) in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland that from 23rd March 2020 we must :

stop all routine dentistry

stop all aerosol-generating procedures

advise and reassure patients with a dental problem by phone where possible, including offering remote prescriptions where appropriate

Only see emergency patients who are asymptomatic and try to keep face to face assessments to a minimum replacing this with phone triage.

In essence, the Department of Health has instructed that we stop seeing patients for any routine care for three reasons. Firstly, it stops you and us travelling and spreading the virus and secondly, we stop creating aerosols sprays (any use of drills and ultrasonic cleaners) as this increases the risk of spreading the virus into the air and thirdly it stops close, sustained face to face contact which is most likely to deliver a potentially harmful high viral load.

Currently welcoming new patients in Botley, Alresford and Twyford.
