Due to the current COVI-19 health crisis, we have temporarily closed the practices to all routine care.

This is to protect the health and wellbeing of all our patients and staff.

However, we are still here to provide emergency advice, support and care to you should you need us.

Please call 01962 714459 for further help.

This situation is changing day by day and as soon as it is safe to reopen we will be.

Stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.

We as dental professionals have received advice from the Chief Dental Officers (CDOs) in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland that from 23/03/2020 we must :

stop all routine dentistry

stop all aerosol-generating procedures

advise and reassure patients with a dental problem by phone where possible, including offering remote prescriptions where appropriate

Only see emergency patients who are asymptomatic and try to keep face to face assessments to a minimum replacing this with phone triage.

In essence, the Department of Health has instructed that we stop seeing patients for any routine care for three reasons. Firstly, it stops you and us travelling and spreading the virus and secondly, we stop creating aerosols sprays (any use of drills and ultrasonic cleaners) as this increases the risk of spreading the virus into the air and thirdly it stops close, sustained face to face contact which is most likely to deliver a potentially harmful high viral load.

You will appreciate that as a dental practice we work in an environment where the prevention of the spread of a whole range of infections is woven into everything that we do, every minute of every day and we operate scrupulous cross infection and decontamination control. Nevertheless, we are paying particular attention to the latest government guidance on the transmission of coronavirus, it’s an unprecedented situation in the UK regarding the spread of COVID-19 and one we are taking very seriously indeed. So our practices will remain closed for the next 3 weeks or until it is safe to open.

However, we are all so looking forward to seeing you all again when it is safe to do so. We are already putting lots of plans in place to come back with a bang increasing our opening hours considerably, moving to 8am -8pm clinics and operating a 6 day week.

In the meantime ……

If you need emergency care then please call us 01962 714459 we have a remote receptionist working every weekday.
We have a remote on-call dentist every day
We are able to offer remote advice, reassurance and issue you with a prescription or medication
We can arrange daily collection of medications
We are offering an emergency oral surgery clinic conducted by one of our maxillofacial consultants with all the PPE protective wear necessary to asymptomatic patients.

Stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.

Thank you,
Dr Rebecca K Hartog
